Programs and Services

childrenWe are delighted to begin by sharing that Hibiscus Children’s Center is currently celebrating over 22 years of fulfilling its mission of providing services to children and families to prevent and reduce child abuse and neglect. Through the incredible support of the community, Hibiscus Children's Center continues to fight the devastating cycle of child abuse and to protect our greatest resource ... our children. Our programs include:

The Hibiscus Children's Center Community Mental Health provides Residential and Outpatient Mental Health Services to children, 0-18, and their families.

Hibiscus Support for Families in Crisis (formerly Crisis Nursery) Program is a primary prevention program that families in crisis seek voluntarily.  The program enables families to reduce the impact of poverty, unemployment, domestic violence, behavior management, and other stressful situations that can precipitate child abuse.  By providing family support services … we can help families prevent problems from escalating into abuse and neglect.
Hibiscus Foster Care provides recruitment, training, support, licensure, and re-licensure of foster parents and their homes to increase capacity in Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee counties.
Hibiscus HOPE is a reunification program that works with families whose children have been removed due to allegations of abuse and neglect and are identified as high risk in reunifying children safely with their family of origin.
Hibiscus Children’s Shelter is a 24 hour awake emergency shelter for children ages birth to 12 and their siblings who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect.

Hibiscus Children’s Village, group homes for children removed from thier homes due to abuse and/or neglect, opened in April 2004 increasing capacity and providing thousands of nights of safety to hundreds of children ages birth to 12 and their siblings a home-like setting.  The Village has seven group homes, one ofwhich is a therapeutic group home. We also has a state-of-the-art Childhood Development Centre, a preschool for ages birth to 5 years of age; it is open to the children residing at the Village as well as community children.

Hibiscus Children's Center is also part of the Strengthening Families Program - a collaboration with several children's agencies to provide skills training to at-risk families.
