Hibiscus Tilton Family Children's Shelter
|
|
The Hibiscus Childrens Shelter in Jensen Beach, Florida provides a safe environment for newborns to 12-year olds removed from their homes because of abuse, neglect or abandonment.
.
Children receive 24-hour "awake" supervision, nursing and therapeutic treatment by trained professionals in a safe and loving environment. The children's Shelter has provided tens of thousands of safe nights of service to thousands of children from Florida's four-county Treasure Coast who have come to Hibiscus Children's Center seeking refuge from their own home. As a result, the impact of abuse on their long–term health, safety and self-esteem has been significantly reduced. |

Hibiscus Children's Center was founded in 1985 by Stuart, Florida concerned citizen LaVaughn Tilton. Mrs. Tilton formed Child Abuse Prevention, Inc. to raise funds for her dream for a temporary shelter for abused, neglected and abandoned children. By 1989 her dream was fulfilled with the opening of the Shelter with 12 beds - licensed by the state and debt free. |
