Hibiscus Tilton Family Children's Shelter

The Hibiscus Childrens Shelter in Jensen Beach, Florida provides a safe environment for newborns to 12-year olds removed from their homes because of abuse, neglect or abandonment.
.
Children receive 24-hour "awake" supervision, nursing and therapeutic treatment by trained professionals in a safe and loving environment. The children's Shelter has provided tens of thousands of safe nights of service to thousands of children from Florida's four-county Treasure Coast who have come to Hibiscus Children's Center seeking refuge from their own home. As a result, the impact of abuse on their long–term health, safety and self-esteem has been significantly reduced.
Hibiscus Children's Center was founded in 1985 by Stuart, Florida concerned citizen LaVaughn Tilton. Mrs. Tilton formed Child Abuse Prevention, Inc. to raise funds for her dream for a temporary shelter for abused, neglected and abandoned children. By 1989 her dream was fulfilled with the opening of the Shelter with 12 beds - licensed by the state and debt free.
