Currently President of the Hibiscus Governing Board, Dan Braden was a founding director and served as the first President of the Martin County Foundation Board. He has had contineous service as a director with officer and other leadership roles on the Hibiscus Governing, Regional, Operating and Foundation Boards since the agency's founding 25-years ago.

Mr. Braden was instrumental in the design and construction of the Hibiscus Tilton Family Children's Shelter in Jensen Beach which opened in 1989, and the Hibiscus Children's Village in Vero Beach which opened in 2004.

Mr. Braden was born and raised in Miami, moving to Stuart, Florida in 1968. He graduated from the University of Miami, School of Architecture and joined his family's architecture firm, Braden & Braden, as a partner in 1984.

Dan and his wife George Ann, who is a teacher at JD Parker Elementary in Martin County, have two daughters. Marilyn Southwick, a teacher at South Fork High School, Martin County, and Ashley Braden an architecture grad student following in her dad's footsteps. Dan is the proud grandpa of Marilyn's four year old son, Braden.
 
Dan Braden's other community service endeavors include service to the Salvation Army as a board director and with Braille International and Habitat for Humanity for which he has provided architectural services since 1984.
